All roads on Fraser Island are sand tracks. There is no pharmacy or resident doctor, although a Queensland Ambulance Service station operates from Happy Valley during peak visitor periods and an air ambulance is available for emergencies.

Australia Wide: Great Australian Train Journeys to book a trip on one of the major National trains. Some trains take cars only. You might need a train to return home for a visit, or you might want to do a round trip, and return to your caravan.

For example Puffing Billy in Victoria, Maldon / Castlemaine in Central Victoria, or is it NSW and the Blue Mountains that interests you? Then it is the Great Zig Zag Railway that you should see.
